Workers comp approved for carpal tunnel after 3 denials
I work in data entry and developed severe carpal tunnel in both wrists. Workers comp denied me 3 times saying it wasnt work related because "lots of people get carpal tunnel."
My doctor wrote a detailed causation letter. Got an independent medical exam that linked it directly to my job duties (8 hours of typing daily for 6 years). Also got coworker statements saying they have the same issues.
Fourth submission was approved. Getting surgery next month fully covered plus wage replacement during recovery. The key was the IME - cost me $300 out of pocket but it was the evidence that tipped the scales.
