Should I hire a public adjuster? My claim feels way too low

Tree fell on my house during a storm. Insurance adjuster came out, very quick walkthrough, and now they're offering $15k. My contractor estimates repairs at $45k.

I've heard about public adjusters but I'm worried about:

- The cost (usually 10-15% of settlement right?)
- Whether it'll actually help or just drag things out
- If it'll make the insurance company harder to work with

Anyone have experience hiring a PA? Was it worth it? Any red flags to watch for when choosing one?

Im in Georgia if anyone knows good ones in the area.
