New Jersey shore flood insurance - NFIP vs private?

Own a house at the shore and dealing with crazy NFIP premiums since Risk Rating 2.0. Getting quotes from private flood insurers that are actually cheaper. Is this too good to be true?

Anyone in New Jersey have experience with private flood insurance? Im nervous about claims handling compared to NFIP. Also worried about them canceling if theres a bad storm season.
