Moore tornado claim - total loss experience

Lost our house in one of the Moore tornadoes. Total loss. Wanted to share what the process was really like.

Timeline: tornado May 20th, adjuster came May 28th, total loss declared June 15th, first check July 1st. Thats actually pretty fast. What helped: we had replacement cost not ACV, we had good documentation of contents (home inventory app), and we didnt try to fight every small thing. Total payout was about $320k on a $350k policy. The "law and ordinance" coverage paid for demo and code upgrades.
