Maryland flood insurance changes - higher ground helped

Just went through FEMA flood map update and our property got remapped from AE to X zone based on new elevation data. This dropped our flood insurance from $2800/year to $450/year.

If youre in Maryland and think your property might be mis-mapped, its worth getting an elevation certificate. Cost me $500 for the surveyor but saving over $2k per year now. The new Risk Rating 2.0 system weighs elevation heavily.
