Lake Erie flooding - high water claims in Ohio

Lake Erie has been at record highs and weve had repeated flooding issues. Wanted to share what worked for us as lakefront owners in Ohio.

1) Standard flood insurance through NFIP works for lake flooding. 2) Ohio has a Coastal Management program that can help with erosion issues. 3) Document the high water marks - we literally painted lines on our seawall with dates. 4) Get an updated elevation certificate if lake levels have changed your risk zone. We went from X to A zone and actually got better coverage options.
